Dr. Toome has nearly 30 years experience in treating all diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. She is proficient in dermatologic surgery as well as Botox and filler injections. 

Dr. Toome has taught multiple Physician, Nurse Practationer, and Physician Assistant training courses for a variety of fillers and toxins. She is a National Trainer for Botox Cosmetic, Allergen.

Dr. Birgit Toome was born and raised in New Jersey. After graduating from Princeton University , she received her medical training at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, followed by internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Hospital .She then went on to University of Rochester for her Dermatology residency.

Dr. Toome’s professional interests include skin cancer screening and surgery, general dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology, including Botox and fillers. She also is very enthusiastic about helping acne, eczema, and psoriasis patients find the best medicines individually suited to their needs on the path to help control their disease. After having her own large South Jersey practice for 30 years, she is honored to join colleagues at Advanced Dermatology and help continue the great care they are used to providing.

Dr. Toome has been voted “Top Doctor” numerous times in prestigious Castle Connolly, Jersey’s Best, and Philadelphia magazines.

On a personal note, Dr. Toome enjoys living at the Jersey shore with her husband and Pomeranian pup.
